DistroAV is a community-led open-source plugin for OBS Studio. This page explains what data the DistroAV plugin and this website collect, why, and for how long.

Plugin update check

When it starts (at most once a day) and when you click Get latest DistroAV, the plugin asks distroav.org/api/update whether a newer version exists. That request sends:

We use this data to tell you about new versions and to produce anonymous usage statistics (for example, how many installations use each version or platform), which guide development and support decisions. We do not sell or share it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your IP address is processed by the hosting provider to deliver the response, but is not stored with the update-check data.

How to opt out

Untick Continue to check for updates automatically in the DistroAV update dialog. The plugin then only contacts the update server when you click Get latest DistroAV in Tools → DistroAV NDI Settings. Data about your installation is deleted 15 months after its last check.

Website analytics

This website uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to count visits, only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner. If you decline, no analytics script is loaded.

Service providers

The website and update server run on Google Firebase / Google Cloud. Release information and downloads are served by GitHub. Both act as hosting providers and process data under their own privacy policies.

Your rights and contact
